Dr. Filippo Cieri

Dr. Filippo Cieri is a researcher in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Cleveland Clinic, Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health (Las Vegas) and at the Women Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM) at Cleveland Clinic. He is Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He has a training in Clinical Psychology, Psychoanalysis, and Cognitive Neuroscience. His research aims to improve the measurement, diagnosis, and treatment of cognitive change and neurodegenerative disorders, using neuropsychology and neuroimaging approaches, particularly the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). His interests are related to the role of the environment on the brain, the association between olfaction and cognition and the use of a psychodynamic approach in neuroscience. In these fields Dr. Cieri developed new methodological approaches and techniques, publishing peer reviewed papers, books and book chapters. Dr. Cieri earned his doctoral degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and functional Neuroimaging, his Psy.D. in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology in Italy.
