Project 2 will evaluate clinical trial outcome measures and characterize patient-centered outcomes in neurodegenerative disease within non-Hispanic white, Hispanic, and Black/African American participants. Improving the identification and assessment of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders across diverse populations is a public health priority. Accurate and inclusive disease diagnosis requires reliable and culturally valid patient outcome measures. Patient-centered outcomes also increase the likelihood of patient engagement and retention in research. Project 2 utilizes an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design to:

  1. evaluate the measurement properties of existing clinical trial outcome measures across ethnoracial groups
  2. identify culturally sensitive healthcare concerns and prioritized patient-centered outcomes
  3. compare healthcare perceptions and preferences within and across groups

The findings from this study have profound impact for clinical trials and outcome measurement among older adults with neurodegenerative disease.
